Biography
Daniel P. Jay is an experienced attorney at York Law Firm focusing on representing plaintiffs in elder law, including cases involving elder neglect and abuse, and wrongful death. His practice is dedicated to advocating for elders and their families, helping them pursue accountability and justice when harm has occurred.
Dan began his legal career in 2001 at the Law Offices of Wendy C. York, where he developed a strong foundation in plaintiff advocacy and civil litigation. In 2006, he expanded his experience by representing public entities in a wide range of matters, including personal injury claims and civil rights cases. This experience provided him with valuable insight into the defense perspective before returning to York Law Firm in 2017 to focus exclusively on representing elders and their families.
Since his return, Dan has concentrated his practice on elder neglect and abuse, working to hold negligent individuals and institutions accountable. His approach reflects a commitment to protecting vulnerable clients while pursuing meaningful outcomes through clear, focused legal advocacy.
Dan earned his law degree with honors from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2001. He received his undergraduate degree from California State University, Fresno in 1997. He is admitted to practice in California and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.
Outside of his legal practice, Dan enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and cycling.
